The house already had the bones: cedar cladding, dark panels, big glass. What it needed was ground to stand on and outdoor rooms worthy of the view.
We regraded the lot, built the retaining walls and laid a new paver drive and stone courtyard, rebuilt the entry in stacked stone and steel, and finished a rooftop deck with a bar rail looking out over the city and the Blue Ridge. Inside, a new wet bar in dark oak.
